Three dimensions are not an extension of two — they are a different language. In 3D space, light is a material. Gravity is a force. The viewer moves, and the object reveals itself differently from every angle. A form that looks good from the front may feel wrong from the side.

Good 3D design considers every angle, every light condition, every scale. The object exists in a world with physics, and the design must honor that world or create its own consistent physics. Inconsistency in 3D space registers as wrongness before the eye can articulate what is wrong.

Structure and beauty are not in tension in three dimensions — the most structurally honest forms are almost always the most beautiful. The topology that renders cleanly is the topology that was designed with respect for how light moves across surface. The material that behaves physically is the material that reads as real.
