The painting establishes the causeway, towers, workers and alternate route types. Channel colors alone cannot identify freshwater versus brine. Exact eighty-metre height, valve connectivity and continuous traversal require a playable layout.
EXPERIMENTAL / Place concept / Where the river is made to pay
A tidal fortress separates freshwater from salt and turns the crossing into a toll. Reach its exposed court, secure the bypass and win the river back.
The Tribunal's two sluice towers once kept storm tides out of a shared freshwater store. Its narrow court allowed keepers on both sides to inspect the same gate positions. Othrek converted that public checkpoint into a dueling ground and restricted access to the maintenance ledges.
Salt workers still live beside the pans, and the fortress still performs necessary flood work. The party cannot solve the region by collapsing every wall. Its best victory keeps the useful system intact while taking the coercive command away from the marshal.
A narrow diagonal causeway reaches a court between two monumental rectangular sluice towers. Separate walled channels carry river water and tide; deep gate slots expose counterweights and maintenance stairs.
The duel should end with an observable gain: taps run, the punitive bypass closes and workers cross the court freely. The proposed next chapter tests how the community keeps that gain through a storm.
Understand an arena before entering its central duel. Locate cover, the refill standpipe, the civilian line and a second route to the bypass.
Reach the court with a worker ally, stop the punitive release and retain the operating records while defeating the garrison's command.
A public estuary crossing and keeper-operated cistern become a returnable community hub in the proposed campaign. Later visits can show reliable water, returning fish and an open market.
A storm-defense challenge uses the same fortress after liberation. Players cooperate with former opponents to close tidal gates, proving that mastery includes protecting what they won.
